This project – Hong Kong Jockey Club LEAD at Cyberport – is a collaborative effort by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, Massachussetts Institute of Technology and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and is supported by the Innovation and Technology Commission of the HKSAR and the Hong Kong Jockey Club.
“LEAD”, Learning through Engineering, Art and Design, tells the purpose of this centre for youngsters from primary 4 to secondary 2.
Located at Cyberport, a high end residential and business area, the LEAD centre is installed with many large scale LED lights as an emblem for leading edge technology. The colour of the LED lights at the reception area are even everchanging to convey a sense of timelessness, innovation, boundless creativity and imagination.
To further tailor make the centre to feed the needs of the community, BHA has incorporated a waiting room for domestic helpers while the children under their care are using the facilities of the LEAD Centre.
Cool metallic tones are on the other hand used as the main colour to represent technology and engineering, while the contrasting primary colours LED lights highlights the aspect of art and design.
