Apartment @ Hatton Road
This design project for a new residence is an attempt to examine the relationship between the seemingly opposing notions of simplicity and comfort, when often simplicity is taken to imply discomfort, and comfort is taken to imply exuberant forms.
This apartment at Mid Levels employed only 3 colours in the colour scheme: white oak from the floor tiles, dark grey from the mirrors, and white from the emulsion paint, accentuated only the “4th colour” of transparent.
The spatial arrangements on the other hand follows the maxim of “form follows function” where only the most minimal forms were used to set up the function. The result is a hip minimal apartment for a young couple.
